Widespread power outages resulted from the intense storms that passed through western Kentucky Friday night.
UPDATE 4:30 pm: Officials say 5,500 customers remain without power, and 80 additional personnel have come in from cooperatives in surrounding states to assist local linemen around the clock with pole replacements and reconnecting homes.
Pennyrile Electric Vice President, Brent Gilkey says at the worst of it, they saw numerous substations down.
