POSITION DESCRIPTION
This full-time position requires a high-energy, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and goal-oriented student affairs professional. A flexible work schedule (including daytime, evening, and weekend hours) is required. The position’s primary focus is to recruit prospective students, build a culturally and demographically diverse pipeline of traditional-aged and non-traditional-aged applicants, track their progress to enrollment and assist in the completion of the admissions and enrollment funnel. This position will work within a team unit, led by a director, to identify target markets and execute plans to support Hopkinsville Community College’s strategic enrollment plan and strategic diversity plan.

The position will develop and maintain positive relationships with local schools, community-based organizations, local agencies, and the public. The position will increase awareness of the quality learning experiences available to individuals preparing for entry into the workforce, transferring to a baccalaureate institution, or seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills through all HCC campuses. The position will disseminate admissions, financial aid, and program offerings information throughout the college’s service area.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Represent HCC at college fairs, career days, health fairs, festivals, high school sporting events, community gatherings, and other activities to apprise the local public of the college’s wide array of associate degree, diploma, certificate program offerings, and customized training opportunities.
2. Create, implement, and evaluate a recruitment plan, under the direction of the Director, that supports the college’s overall Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) and Strategic Diversity plans. Identify and recruit eligible and under-represented students within the target region.
3. Provide on-going support and coaching to prospects throughout the process of becoming an enrolled student. Coaching to include but not limited to the general assistance for students completing the college’s admissions application, submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), applying for academic scholarships, scheduling orientation, completing placement examinations, and enrolling in classes.
4. Maximize technology-based communication systems to track and communicate with prospective students, enhance relationship-building, and monitor individuals from prospect to applicant to enrolled status. Use a case management approach drawing on multiple communication methodologies. Incorporate letters, emails, texts, phone calls, in-person contacts, and social media as part of the extensive follow-up required after initial contact with the prospective student.
5. Maintain positive relationships with local high school guidance counselors, parents, and administrators, as well as the college’s academic division chairs, academic program coordinators, faculty, and staff.
6. Assist the director and the college’s marketing department to implement various recruitment campaigns.
7. Assist the director in coordinating and executing a variety of admissions events, including but not limited to open house events, campus tours, and visit days at all HCC campuses.
8. Assist the Director with maintaining a college-wide recruitment calendar.
9. Assist with the following duties as needed: Rotary Scholars Program, dual credit and dual enrollment, and orientation.
10. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor degree and one year related experience, or equivalent
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills, in order to provide outstanding customer service digitally, in-person and over the phone with both internal and external customers.
3. Must be a self-motivator, who can take initiative, meet deadlines and accomplish tasks with little direct supervision in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
4. Friendly, energetic and outgoing personality with a positive, problem-solving attitude.
5. Organized and efficient in coordinating a variety of activities; excellent time management skills.
6. Experience in identifying and recruiting eligible and under-represented students within the target region preferred.
7. Experience working in student services and/or sales preferred.
8. Experience with technology-based communication, student administration systems (i.e., PeopleSoft), and Microsoft Excel preferred.

KY law requires state and national pre-employment background checks as a condition of employment.
