Harold Ray Wood, 84, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky died at 8:32 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at his home in Hopkinsville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2025 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Goulet officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home and from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Eminence, Kentucky, he was born on June 6, 1941 the son of the late Cecil Willard Wood and Ethel Lee Spurr Wood.
He was a member and former deacon at First Baptist Church in Hopkinsville and in the Christian County Jail Ministry for several years. He was a teacher, coach and administrator with multiple school districts in Kentucky and retired as Principal of Hopkinsville High School.
Survivors include his wife: Ruth O. Wood of Hopkinsville, KY; his daughters; Karen (Kahle) Morris of Fairview, KY and Amy (Scott) Wolaver of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandchildren, Karlee (Logan) Daniel, Paige (Dixon) Craft and SaraRuth Wolaver; and his great grandchildren, Woodson Daniel, Ellison Craft and Lane Wilkins Daniel.
Memorials may take the form of donations to the Christian County Jail Ministry.
