A traffic stop for a turn signal violation led to drug charges for a Morgantown woman and a Bowling Green man on Wednesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Jennifer Johnson for a turn signal violation and found she didn’t have her license on her, along with no proof of insurance.

After a law enforcement K9 reportedly alerted on the vehicle, meth and a glass smoking device were located. Police say her passenger, 52-year-old Granville Cornett, was also found to have a marijuana vape on him.

While in jail, Johnson was reportedly found to have marijuana on her as well. They were both arrested and charged with trafficking meth and possession of marijuana.

Johnson was also charged with failure to or improper signal, license to be in possession, no insurance, and first-degree promoting contraband.
