Chantia Wilson, a cherished mother, sister, and friend, left this world on the very day she entered it, November 27, at the age of 65, surrounded by the love of her family in her hometown of Hopkinsville.
Visitation for Chantia will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. and with the family at 4:00 p.m. at Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville.
Throughout her life, Chantia was a dedicated and skilled cook, and her culinary passion led her to work at some of Hopkinsville’s beloved eateries, including the Horseshoe for over 30 years, Dots, Holiday Burger, Roundie’s, and Shoney’s.
Chantia, lovingly known to her friends and family simply by her first name, was a devoted daughter to her mother, Rosie Mumford, of Hopkinsville. Chantia’s legacy lives on through her adoring children: Kenisha Travis of Clarksville, TN; Clyde Eugene Rankins III and his wife, Tiffany, of Fort Walton Beach, FL; Sasha Womack and her husband, Fredrick, of Hopkinsville, KY; and Charles E. Sumler III of Hopkinsville, KY; her siblings: James White and his wife, Kitti, of Toledo, OH; Riley White of Dayton, OH; Angela Bozeman of Virginia; Jacqueline White, Vanessa Pendleton, and Kathy Catlett, all of Hopkinsville; and her 11 grandchildren.
As we say goodbye to Chantia, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on so many lives. Her presence was a gift, and though she has departed from this earthly journey, her spirit and the memories she created will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
