John Andrew Sallee, 73, of Hopkinsville

John Andrew “Doug” Sallee was born on December 16, 1951 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to the late Richard Sallee and Catherine Jackson Sallee.

Doug accepted Christ at an early age as his personal savior and joined the Durrett Avenue Baptist Church. As life brings changes, Doug moved to Junction City, KS and later moved to Augusta, GA where he was employed as a meat processor at Shapiro Foods. Doug relocated back to Hopkinsville for the remainder of his lifetime where he was fondly known as “Dougie Fresh.” Doug was always a sharp dresser, and loved to cook, clean, party and spend time with his family.

Doug leaves to cherish his memories, daughter, Andricka Banks of Hopkinsville, and Bernatta Bronough of Atlanta, GA, son Zayer Adams of Paducah, Ky, Grandchildren, K’dre Autrez Banks, Cortayshia Lewis, Brooklyn Mimms, Great Grand-children, Kian, Kinsley, Khasia & Kehlani; Brother Eugene Hutchinson, Harvey Sallee (Mary) of Evansville, IN, Sisters: Jane Leavell (Livy), Kathy Jackson, Evelyn Jackson of Hopkinsville, KY, Mary Guthrie (Mike) of Ludowici, GA and Virginia Hopkins of Augusta, GA. He is preceded in death by his brothers, James Booker Jackson (Kim), Roy Thomas Jackson (Carolyn), Richard Sallee, Fleming Hutchinson, Jr., & Paul Sallee, He also leaves a loving host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, extended family and close friends.
