A wreck on Lovers Lane near Romeo Drive on October 24th killed a man and injured two others, leading to criminal charges for one of the drivers on Friday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say on October 24th, an SUV driven by 77-year-old William Bouldin was on the side of the road as he was getting mail out of a mailbox when a second SUV driven by 43-year-old Douglas Jones hit Bouldin and his SUV.
Bouldin was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health with CPR in progress, but later died from his injuries.
A woman in Bouldin’s SUV, 63-year-old Starr Bouldin, and Jones were taken to Jennie Stuart Health as well for injuries. Jones was then transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville due to his injuries.
Jones was arrested on Friday after results from the Kentucky State Police Crime Laboratory showed his blood alcohol content was allegedly three times the legal limit at the time of the collision. He is charged with murder and first-degree wanton endangerment.
