A Hopkinsville woman reported a threatening call from someone claiming to be law enforcement Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say the woman received a call from someone claiming to be a sergeant at the police department, stating her mother had been arrested and demanding she pay $1,800 to release her.
When the woman would not comply with the demands, the suspect reportedly claimed the Department of Community-Based Services would take her children away.
No arrest has been made, but law enforcement is continuing to investigate.
