A home on White Street in Hopkinsville was severely damaged in a fire Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville firefighters say they were called by a neighbor who noticed smoke coming from the home and when they arrived, the owner was outside.
Hopkinsville Police say the owner pulled a gun on firefighters, but officers were able to talk him into putting the gun down.
No one was injured in the fire that took a while to extinguish due to overgrowth around the home.
Police say the owner was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation.
