Charlie T. Barnes, Jr., 92, of Pembroke, died at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Catherine DeMoss officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Crofton, Kentucky, he was born on May 20, 1933, the son of the late Charlie T. Barnes, Sr. and Pearl Frey Barnes. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Townley Barnes, and his brothers, Paul Barnes and Robert Wayne Barnes.
He was a member of Pembroke Christian Church and was a Metal Smith at Johnson’s Tin Shop.
Survivors include his son, Dr. Tim (Bethany) Barnes of Marion, Illinois, and his daughter, Sheila (Steve) DeMoss of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; his sister, Dorene P’Pool of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Three grandchildren: Lindsey Sollers, Rev. Catherine DeMoss, and Ali Kern; two great-grandchildren, Gia Sollers and Clayton Kern.
