Christian Care Communities & Truist Partner To Strengthen Nursing Workforce

Christian Care Communities is launching a new nursing workforce investment program at its Hopkinsville campus, thanks to a grant from the Truist Foundation.

“Christian Care Communities is all across the state of Kentucky, and we’ve been in Hopkinsville for many, many years,” said CEO Mary Lynn Spalding.

“It was geared toward sharpening their hands-on learning, to enhance their clinical judgment, to give them more confidence in leadership, and to even help them engage further with patients and families and things like that,” Spalding said. “So we’re just really trying to enhance that overall nursing practice.”

She said the need is especially great in post-acute care.

“I think that we’re going to be wildly successful, and I would anticipate we’ll expand it not only in Hopkinsville, but we’ll also expand it across the state,” she said.

She added that Christian Care Communities offers other incentives for those considering post-acute nursing as a career.
