HWEA Proposes Increase For Christian County Water

Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority is proposing an increase to its wholesale price for the first time in 15 years. Chief Operations Officer, Melissa Spurr says they have been selling water to the Christian County Water District since 1973.

click to download audioHWEA is currently contracted to supply CCWD with water through 2058. Director of Water, Daniel Lancaster says the study evaluated the fairness of operating costs.

click to download audioHe says County Water has increased its customer base during the last 15 year as well as how much water they are purchasing on an annual basis. This rate change is likely to go into effect in October.
