A pursuit that started in Todd County ended in Christian County Tuesday night.

Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say they located a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Zachary Evans of Hopkinsville on West Jeff Davis Highway that had fled from Elkton Police earlier in the day.

When deputies attempted a traffic stop, Evans reportedly fled at a high rate of speed and turned his lights off.

Deputies say the pursuit went into Christian County and onto Kentucky 115 before a mechanical problem with Evans’ truck led to him stopping near Bell Chapel Road.

He reportedly resisted arrest and would not comply with law enforcement’s orders. Deputies say an open vodka bottle was located in the passenger side floorboard of Evans’ truck.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, third-degree terroristic threatening, and reckless driving.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police assisted the Todd County Sheriff’s Office in the pursuit.
