A Clarksville, Tennessee, man has been sentenced to nearly two years in federal prison for embezzling more than $250,000 from his former employer in western Kentucky.

Timothy Allen Pew, 43, received a sentence of one year and eight months on June 21, after pleading guilty to seven counts of wire fraud.

He was also ordered to pay $257,400.08 in restitution, and will serve three years of supervised release following his prison term.

Federal prosecutors say Pew, who worked as a purchasing manager, used a company credit card to funnel funds into his personal PayPal account. The fraudulent transactions occurred between March 2023 and January 2024 through an unnamed Hopkinsville manufacturing facility.

Authorities say he not only embezzled the money but also lied about his qualifications and attempted to conceal the scheme through falsified records.

The case was investigated by the FBI’s Hopkinsville Satellite Office and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Raymond McGee of the Paducah Branch Office.

There is no parole in the federal prison system.
