A traffic stop on Main Street in Cadiz led to drug charges for a Cadiz man Saturday afternoon.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Randy Fender Jr. for not wearing a seatbelt, and during the stop, he could not provide a driver’s license or proof of insurance and stated he was DUI-suspended in 2012 in Florida.

After a search of the vehicle, a glass pipe with a crystal substance inside, marijuana, and several guns were reportedly found along with meth after he told deputies of some hidden in the dash.

Deputies say they went to Fender’s home on Cunningham Avenue and located 44-year-old Teresa Hall, who gave consent to search the home where more bags of a crystal substance, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found.

Fender was found to have active warrants out of Florida and he was arrested and charged with trafficking meth, possession of marijuana, driving on a DUI suspended license, failure to wear seat belts, and two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Hall was also arrested and charged with possession of meth.
