Another wave of potentially dangerous hot weather is preparing to place its grip on the region. Forecasters with the National Weather Service say hot conditions are expected to begin to build this weekend and could be full force by the middle of next week.
How hot could it be ? The National Weather Service states that daily heat indices of 105 to 115 are expected, potentially exceeding 120 by the middle of the week across the four-state area covered by the Paducah office.
Current predictions have next week’s heat index readings as high as:
Hopkinsville – 108
Madisonville – 105
Murrray – 107
Owensboro – 109
Paducah – 109
At this point, forecasters say the biggest day of concern for next week would be on Thursday.
