Trigg County tourism made a major economic impact in 2024, generating $31.2 million, according to the latest report from the Kentucky Department of Tourism.
The industry supported 216 jobs and contributed $5.7 million in labor income, while delivering $2.1 million in state and local tax revenue. Officials say the growth underscores tourism’s role in funding public services, creating employment, and fueling community development.
The 2024 gains come as Kentucky marked a record-breaking tourism year statewide. More than 80 million visitors contributed to a $13.8 billion impact across the Commonwealth—an increase of 3.8% in total visitor spending. The statewide industry supported more than 95,000 jobs and generated over $1 billion in state and local tax revenue.
Trigg County, located in Kentucky’s Western Waterlands region, plays a significant role in the state’s tourism economy. The region as a whole contributed nearly $940 million to Kentucky’s total tourism impact last year.
With major attractions like Lake Barkley and Land Between the Lakes, the area continues to draw visitors year-round. Officials credit the ongoing success in part to the state’s “New Kentucky Home” marketing campaign, which promotes the Commonwealth’s scenic beauty, culture, and hospitality.
