Hopkinsville Fire Department Announces Three Promotions

The Hopkinsville Fire Department has announced the promotion of three members to new leadership positions.

Captain Marty Bangart has been promoted to Chief of Training. He joined HFD in 2008 as a Firefighter/EMT after serving in the U.S. Army. Most recently, he served as District Captain on Battalion 2. In his new role, Chief Bangart will oversee the department’s training programs and lead the HFD Fire Academy.

Lieutenant Josh Buxton has been promoted to District Captain. Captain Buxton began his career with the department in 2006 and spent many years as a Firefighter/Paramedic before being promoted to Lieutenant in 2021. He now serves as District 1 Captain on Battalion 3.

Firefighter/AEMT Kris Perry has been promoted to Lieutenant. He joined the department in 2018 and spent most of his career with Battalion 3 before transferring to Battalion 1 as an Engineer. Lieutenant Perry will now serve Battalion 2 at Station 4.
