A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting a woman and choking her during an argument on Bryan Street in Hopkinsville Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 29-year-old James McClure pushed the woman into a wall then used his arm to put pressure on her neck causing her to not be able to breathe.
He was later located walking on Bill Flynn Boulevard with a beer in his hand and was arrested. McClure was charged with second-degree strangulation, alcohol intoxication in a public place, and fourth-degree assault.
