A Hopkinsville man died at the hospital after a wreck on Pembroke Road near the intersection of Edwards Mill Road Friday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say an SUV driven by 89-year-old James Mason was exiting a parking lot and pulled into the path of an eastbound truck driven by 27-year-old Robert Stauffer of Cleveland, Tennessee, that was on Pembroke Road.
Mason had to be cut from his vehicle and then taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health with CPR in progress but later died from his injuries.
Stauffer was not injured in the crash.
The road was blocked for several hours as the crash was reconstructed by law enforcement.
