Christian County Public Schools Board of Education is preparing for some changes following the wrap of the Kentucky General Assembly. Thursday night, the School Board had a lengthy discussion on bills passed by the legislature that will impact the district.

click to download audioBarrett says they piloted the program during summer school and saw success. The policy will also be updated to reflect the required moment of silence in House Bill 96. Another update, which takes effect July 27th, will require the district to designate all traceable communications systems. Board Chair Tom Bell says the district should track costs.
click to download audioSuperintendent Chris Bentzel says it will be imperative for everyone to sign up and use Parent and Student Square. Board Attorney Jack Lackey warned this bill has teeth and offers no definitions. It would apply to all staff, teachers, administrators, and volunteers.
