Violet McDaniel, 72, of Princeton

Violet G. McDaniel, age 72 of Princeton, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Stamping Ground, Kentucky. Born on April 12, 1953, in Princeton, Kentucky, Violet lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedicated service to those around her. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

For over thirty years, Violet exemplified tireless commitment through her work as a nurse’s aide at Princeton Healthcare Manor on the 2nd shift and Highland Homes on the 3rd shift. Her dual roles mirrored her nurturing heart and caregiving spirit, as she always put the needs of others before her own. Violet’s proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family, a testament to her devotion and love.

An eternal caregiver, she brought joy to those around her, often sharing hearty laughs that resonated in the hearts of family and friends alike. Violet had a knack for lightening up any room with her infectious laugh and unique sense of humor. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, often playfully scaring them by hiding under their beds—an endearing tradition that added layers of joy and excitement to familial bonds. Her enthusiasm for life extended further into her passions for singing, karaoke, and engaging in fun activities such as senior citizens’ dances, consignment shopping, and gardening. Family vacations to Florida were particularly treasured memories, creating lasting bonds under the sun-soaked skies.

Violet is survived by her loving daughters, Rebecca Lady of Princeton and Tammy Hawkins of Coxs Creek. She leaves behind a cherished brother, Jimmy McDaniel (Debbie) of Princeton, and a devoted sister, Louise Hall of Princeton. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Joshua Gordon (Elizabeth) of Murray, Jonathan Mitchell of Bredenton, FL, Andrew Gordon (Lauryn) of Naples, FL, Jessica McKenzie of Cadiz, Justin Mitchell of Princeton, Jake Hawkins (Micheal Cannon) of Stamping Ground, KY, and Claragrace Hawkins of Coxs Creek, KY. Additionally, she revels in the joy of great-grandchildren: Codie, Gracie, and Hunter McKenzie; Jayden Alexander; Liam, Talmadge, and Lolly Gordon; and Abigail Gordon and great-great-grandchildren: Camden & Andrea McKenzie. Her most prized possession, her beloved fur baby, Lexi, will also miss her tender care and playful spirit.

In addition to her parents, Lourd Cash and Ella Lee McDaniel, Violet is preceded in death by her brothers, Chester McDaniel and Sydney McDaniel, and her sisters, Patty McClure and Katherine “Kitty” Matthews. She will forever be remembered by the lives she touched and the love she shared.
