Walton Ezell, 91, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 4:22 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025 at his residence.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Trigg County, KY Walton was born March 13, 1934 the son of the late Jim and Daisy Tinsley Ezell. He was a United States Army veteran. He worked 10 years as a trust officer at the Old Planters Bank & Trust Company, and then 12 years as the Credit Manager for Farm Credit. He also farmed fulltime while working in the banking industry.
Walton loved agriculture and the community as a whole, and dedicated many years of his life for the betterment of both. Walton served 25 years as a past director of Hopkinsville Elevator and spent 45 years as a past director of Heritage Bank. He also spent 25 years as a 4-H Leader. He was also a member of the Hopkinsville Lion Club. Walton also spent most of his life as a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church.
Walton is survived by his wife of 50 years: Tresa Holt Ezell; his son: David W. (Beverly) Ezell of Hopkinsville, KY; his daughter: Dana (Bob) McLawhorn of Hopkinsville, KY; his grandchildren: Leslie (Kyle) Rhone, Holly McLawhorn, and Bradley Ezell; and two great grandchildren.
