As many residents have noticed, and Your News Edge has previously reported, there have been some speed limit changes along U.S. 68/Kentucky 80 in Trigg County.
The most notable changes have been the establishment of 45 MPH zones around the Cadiz city limits and in the area of Interstate 24. Additionally, the 55 MPH zones have been expanded somewhat.
Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree said if people mind the signs and laws, they will not have to conduct a traffic stop on you.
Sheriff Acree said the changes are good moves and add a layer of protection for all motorists.
He added that they will issue citations or tickets to those speeding excessively in and around these zones.
Sheriff Acree and his deputies encourage safe traveling around Trigg County, as summer activities pick up and tourists begin to pour into the region.
