
At 2 PM Wednesday, May 28, the West Kentucky Film Commission will officially launch at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts in Madisonville.
Governor Andy Beshear will join regional leaders to spotlight the rise of the film and television industry in western Kentucky, and the event will feature announcements on industry initiatives, workforce development and new opportunities for local businesses and creatives.
Officials said what began as a bold vision in Hopkins County has grown into a regional partnership supported by neighboring cities and counties, including Bowling Green, Oak Grove, Franklin, Central City, Henderson and Owensboro.
Co-Commissioners Jeremy Winton and Kristi Kilday will unveil new efforts focused on location development, production interest and education.
