GOOD NEWS: Through Contest, Local Artists Draw Comer’s Attention

Congressman James Comer (R-Ky.) has announced Lily Hughes of Christian County High School as the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District.

Her drawing, titled Repeller Man, will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol alongside winning pieces from across the country.

Catherine Poland, also of Christian County High School, earned second place with her piece To the Finish Line. Her artwork will be displayed in Comer’s Washington, D.C. office.

Third place honors went to Bryna Cain of Monroe County High School for her work A Nation on His Shoulder, and Abigail Sears of Danville High School for Little Bird. Their pieces will be exhibited in Comer’s district offices in Tompkinsville and Danville.
