Bobby Love has been named the next principal of Calloway County High School, the district announced this week. He will officially assume the role on July 1, succeeding former Trigg County educator and coach Steve Smith, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Love brings more than a decade of educational experience to the position. He has served as an assistant principal at CCHS for the past three years and was previously principal at Livingston County Middle School for four years. His teaching background includes roles in special education and physical education across Marshall, Christian, and Fayette counties. Love has also held various leadership roles in coaching and extracurricular activities throughout his career.

“Mr. Love brings an impressive amount of experience to our high school,” said Calloway County Schools Superintendent Tres Settle. “He has been a positive influence at CCHS as an assistant principal, and I am excited to see his continued impact on the school. He has a great work ethic and will be a strong leader for CCHS.”

Love expressed gratitude for the appointment and reaffirmed his commitment to the school and community.

“I am grateful to Mr. Settle and the selection committee for the opportunity to serve as the next principal of CCHS,” said Love. “When I came here three years ago, I said I began my career as a student teacher in Calloway County, and I wanted to end my career in Calloway County. At the time, I did not know I would have the privilege of ending my career as principal of Calloway County High School.”

“I look forward to continuing the positive culture and academic excellence we have here. We have an excellent faculty and students, and I look forward to working beside them over the next few years,” he added.
