Hopkinsville residents will soon have access to high-speed fiber internet citywide, thanks to a major expansion by local provider energynet.
The Hopkinsville Electric System (HES) Board of Directors recently approved funding to complete the buildout, marking a milestone in the city’s digital future.
Jeff Hurd, General Manager of Hopkinsville Electric System, said the investment required to bring fiber internet to every home is “significant,” and that their vision has always been to “make Hopkinsville a gig city.”
He said they are thrilled to say that goal is becoming a reality. Hurd said the community has called the service “life changing,” and they are excited to reach even more homes.
This expansion will make reliable, affordable, and sustainable broadband internet available to every household in Hopkinsville.
