The Hopkinsville Rotary Auction crossed the $300,000 total Thursday night, with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math the focus of the evening.

The Rotary STEM Impact Scholarship Program is here to support future engineers and innovators at Christian County High School! Thanks to a powerful partnership between Tennessee Valley Authority, Hopkinsville Electric System & EnergyNet, Pennyrile Electric, and the Hopkinsville Rotary Club. The program will provide $6,000 in annual scholarships and a $1,500 yearly for work-based learning like seminars, equipment, and a field trip to a TVA power facility. Funded by a $100,000 Rotary Foundation grant and $45,000 commitment over the next 5 years from utility partners, this $145,000 endowment will support students indefinitely — and aims to grow with future STEM partners.

The Hopkinsville Rotary Foundation awarded its seventh grant to the Wonderfully Made Workshop. The Wonderfully Made Workshop is an all inclusive service program designed to bring individuals with exceptional abilities the opportunity for meaningful work, fellowship and an outlet for artistic and creative expression. The workshop collaborates with community members, local community groups and agencies to design and create handmade works of art. They primarily use re-purposed jewelry which has been donated by community members to complete their works of art and individuals in the special needs community are involved in every aspect of the design and completion of the products.

The foundation awarded its eighth grant to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hopkinsville-Christian County for their Academic Incentive Program! This program encourages and rewards academic achievement by providing tangible incentives for members who excel in their studies throughout the school year. It’s designed to motivate kids to work hard, stay focused and take pride in their education, while fostering a positive environment that values both hard work and success.

Rotary member Brandon Killibrew encouraged the community to stop by the Memorial building to have lunch or dinner.

The Hopkinsville Rotary Auction continues tonight at the Memorial Building in downtown Hopkinsville. The Diner and Sweet Shop opens at 11:00 today for lunch and at 5:00 tonight for dinner. Find more details at the Hopkinsville Rotary Club website.
