A teenager was flown to a Nashville hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Lafayette Road in Hopkinsville Thursday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say the 16-year-old was crossing Lafayette Road near the intersection of Koffman Drive and was hit by the car. Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says the teenager was taken to meet a helicopter at Hopkinsville Fire Station Number 4 and then flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment of significant lower leg injuries.
Meanwhile, an SUV was damaged in an unrelated accident in the area of the pedestrian incident when the driver attempted to turn into a parking lot and ran into a ditch.
