Christian County Public Schools leadership announced Friday that Megan Kem is now the interim principal of Christian County High School, effective July 1.
She has served as assistant principal at CCHS for the past six years, and has worked in the district for 18 years.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel praised Kem’s leadership and dedication, and said she embodies the spirit of Colonel pride and excellence. Leadership is confident her experience and steady leadership will guide the school during this transition.
Kem has also worked at Hopkinsville High School, and she holds a master’s degree in secondary English education from the University of Kentucky and a master’s in counseling and school administration from Murray State University.
In a written statement, Kem said she believes in the “power of education to change lives.”
Kem is married to her husband of 18 years, Matt, and they have two children.
The appointment follows the resignation of Principal Leigh Ellen Malone, who accepted a position with Warren County Schools. The district extended its best wishes to Malone in her new role.
