Glenda Roberts Johnson, age 88, of Hopkinsville, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
She was born in Trigg County on May 17, 1936, to the late Homer and Ruby (Poindexter) Roberts.
Glenda worked at the former International Shoe Co. in Hopkinsville and later served as a secretary and bookkeeper for Highland Park Garage and the Purina warehouse.
She was a longtime Cerulean Methodist Church member, an avid reader, and incredibly talented with her hands, enjoying sewing and crafts of all types.
Glenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Carman Johnson, on December 15, 2022.
She is survived by her son, Joe Chewning (Kathy) of Cerulean; her daughter, Stephanie Perkins (Bruce) of Cerulean; a granddaughter, Sara Croom; great-granddaughter, Ava Croom; two brothers, Shelby Roberts of Hopkinsville and Kelly Roberts of Cerulean; and a sister, Jo Ann Burke (Wayne) of Brookings, SD.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 1:00 PM until the funeral service hour of 2:00 PM, with Rev. Jamus Redd officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
