Clean Water Takes Center Stage at Jeffers Bend Proclamation

A proclamation declaring May 3rd through the 9th as Drinking Water Week was read Thursday morning at Jeffers Bend. The proclamation recognizes the importance of clean, reliable water and the role it plays in public health, fire protection, and the local economy.

It also encourages residents to protect water sources and stay informed about water issues.

Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam says access to clean water is something many communities still lack.
