Mayor Knight says Hopkinsville is preparing for a long awaited event near the end of the month.
Knight also reminded residents that help is available even when City Hall is closed — through the city’s 311 app.
He says multiple departments actively monitor reports submitted through the app and that the app has been especially important during severe winter weather.
As budget season continues, the mayor says city leaders are closely monitoring spending.
Knight also confirmed the return of the Hoptown Helps program, which helped more organizations last year and remains a priority.
The mayor also announced an upcoming town hall meeting at City Hall, where residents can voice their opinions directly.
A major topic of discussion will be the future of the Hopkinsville Water Park. Knight says closing it is not an option.
He notes the park also plays a significant role in tourism.
With the park’s original bond now paid off, the city is weighing its next steps.
Knight says no decisions will be made without full transparency and public input.
The town hall meeting is expected to take place later this month at Hopkinsville City Hall. Residents are encouraged to attend or submit questions in advance.
