A Cadiz woman was charged with attempted arson after a domestic dispute on Hopkinsville Road on Friday morning.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called about 37-year-old Cyndi Hicks, who had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend and barricaded herself in a room, then started a fire in an attempt to burn the house down.
Deputies say her boyfriend was able to get into the room and extinguish the fire, and as he was trying to leave in his vehicle, she hit his vehicle with hers before fleeing the area.
There were children reportedly in the home at the time of the argument.
Hicks was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree arson, first-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree assault, operating on a suspended revoked license, and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
