Lucille Wadlington Labonte, age 99, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at her home in Cadiz, Kentucky.
Born on November 22, 1926, in Boynton Beach, Florida, she was the daughter of Ben Wadlington and Mary Ledford Wadlington.
Lucille worked for many years as a toll booth attendant on the Florida Turnpike, where she greeted countless travelers. She was a member of the Grand Rivers Baptist Church.
Lucille possessed an extraordinary talent for crafts, quilting, crocheting, and sewing. She could make anything, showcasing her creativity in every project she undertook. She looked forward to Christmas each year, taking great joy in decorating. She loved attending the Trigg County Senior Center, where she actively participated in various activities and enjoyed the company of friends. She most loved being “Granny” to her family and took great pride in her grandchildren, as well as her 10 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice Moneymaker; her son, Glenn Ray Moneymaker; her daughter, Marilyn Rowland; her granddaughter, Pam Williams; her sister, Sallie Choat, and her brothers Paul, Bill, Richard, Bobby, Tom, and Ernest “Buck” Wadlington.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Quertermous of Franklin, KY; her stepsons, Chris Labonte (Kathleen) of Mulberry, FL and Mark Labonte (Irma) of Fort Myers, FL; her grandchildren, Rhonda Kempf (Jeff), Mark Moneymaker (Amanda Phillips), Wesley Hughes (Madelyn), and Joanna Sinclair; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas Kempf, Nicole Moneymaker Bays (Johnny), Amanda Moneymaker Cole (Damian), Christine Moneymaker, Austin Williams, Alex Williams, Kolter Hughes, London Labonte, Luke Labonte, and Lily Labonte; and her great-great-grandchildren, Nixsen, Hazel, Kase and Roman Kempf, Christoper Cosby, Tristan, Landon, Camdon and Caydon Cole, Aaligha Moneyaker, and Aayden Weiner. Additionally, Lucille maintained a cherished friendship with her former husband, Fred Labonte of Fort Pierce, FL.
Funeral services will be held at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2025, with Bro. Russ Stallons is officiating. Burial will follow in Wadlington Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service from 12:00 PM until the service hour of 2:00 PM.
