
A Class of 1994 Hopkinsville High School graduate and former Tigers footballer, Murray State University has named Dr. R. Heath Keller its next dean of the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business — made official during a December 12 Board of Regents meeting.
Keller had served as the interim dean of the school since January 1.
In this role, Keller will continue to oversee academic programs within the College of Business, which remains among only 5% of business schools globally accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Departments in the college include:

+ Computer Science and Information Systems
+ Economics and Finance
+ Journalism and Mass Communications
+ Management, Marketing and Business Administration
+ And Organizational Communication and Leadership
Keller holds professional affiliations with associations such as the Academy of Management, the Southern Management Association, Midwest Academy of Management, Educause and Beta Gamma Sigma.
In a written statement, Keller noted it was an honor and privilege to serve MSU in this capacity, where he will get to represent, support and celebrate “the great students, faculty and staff that make the College of Business shine.”
Keller earned his doctorate from Southern Illinois University in 2011, and he began his faculty career at MSU as an assistant professor in the Department of Management, Marketing and Business Administration.
During his tenure at Murray State, he has progressed to his current rank of professor.
Keller also served as the Department Chair of Management, Marketing and Business Administration from August 2017 until he accepted the role of interim dean.
Keller earned the Regents Award for Teaching Excellence in 2016.
