Anthony “Tony” Platukas, age 90, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at Princeton Nursing and Rehabilitation in Princeton, Kentucky.
Born on August 4, 1935, in Garden City, Michigan, he was the son of Alfred and Jenny Gutvosky Platukas.
Tony worked as a machine journeyman with Ford Motor Company and retired after 30 years. After retiring, he and his wife, Elsie, moved to Cadiz, Kentucky where they enjoyed their retirement years. Tony enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and bowling. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Cadiz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lamkular Platukas; daughter, Christine Platukas; granddaughter, Leisha Genaw; two brothers, George Platukas and Alfred Platukas, Jr.; and three sisters, Judy Platukas, Nancy Bineford and Anna Platukas.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean Marie Kane (Tom) of Garden City, Michigan; stepson, Kenneth R. Sigler, Jr. (Stacy Austin) of Springfield, Illinois; stepdaughters, Kathleen Wood (Dave) of Evansville, Indiana and Vickie McCarty (John) of Springfield, Illinois; grandchildren, Jamie McCarty, Justin Sigler and Brandon Sigler; great-grandchildren, Britany Maben, Emily Genaw, Logan McCarty, Savannah Currier, Avery Sigler, Brayden Sigler and Ryder Sigler; and two sisters, Alice Jopp of North Carolina and Rosie Young of Michigan.
A funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Jacksonville East Cemetery. A visitation will be held 1-2 P.M. prior to the service.
Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, is in care of the local arrangements.
