Forty-two floats lit up downtown Cadiz to kick off the holiday season during the Cadiz-Trigg County Christmas Parade Saturday night.
The annual parade is coordinated by the City of Cadiz.

Ponderosa Baptist Church took first place honors in the float division and won the top prize of $300. Second place and $200 went to the Trigg County Sheriff’s Department Buddy the Elf float. Third place and $100 went to the Trigg County Softball Team Island of Misfit Toys Float.
Best use of lights and $200 went to Shady Lawn Nursing and Rehab Center for their Elvis, Penguins, and Polar Bears at the North Pole. Best use of Theme and $200 went to Burgess Dump Services and Consignment World’s 1940 Chevy truck and float.
The parade was led by Cadiz Police Chief Tyler Thomas and his family, US Forest Service Police from Land Between the Lakes, and Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree and his wife Angela.
Trigg County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Carmen Finley, who serves as Trigg County Clerk, was the Grand Marshall.

Also participating the parade was Miss Trigg County Jaydance Hancock.
