A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contractor has begun a project to perform concrete repairs on several I-24 interchange ramps that will require temporary closures of select on- and off-ramps in Caldwell and Christian counties.

According to state transportation officials, ramp repairs began on Wednesday at Exit 56 to Kentucky 139, also known as Cadiz Road, in Caldwell County. Each ramp will be worked on one at a time, and will be completely closed to traffic while repairs are in progress. There will not be a marked detour during these closures.

Due to the range of repairs needed on each ramp, officials say the contractor can’t give exact closure times ahead of schedule. However, they expect the work at Exit 56 to be finished by the end of the week.

After repairs wrap up at Exit 56, crews will move to Exit 73, which is Kentucky 117 in Christian County, followed by Exit 86 at U.S. 41A. Work at each interchange is expected to last about two to three days, depending on the weather.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through these work zones and to plan ahead for possible delays or alternate routes.
