Christian County Public Schools has named Tammy Ferrell the next principal of Sinking Fork Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026.
Ferrell has served as the school’s assistant principal for three and a half years and has spent all 22 years of her education career in the district.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel said Ferrell knows the school well, is committed to its students and staff, and is well-prepared to lead after her experience as assistant principal.
Ferrell said she is excited and honored to take on the role, noting that Sinking Fork feels like a family and that she looks forward to continuing the school’s positive momentum.
A graduate of Christian County High School, Ferrell previously taught math at several district schools before moving into administration in 2022. She holds multiple degrees from Austin Peay State University, Murray State University and Walden University. She lives in Hopkinsville with her husband, James.
