Cadiz City Council approved the franchise agreement with GFL to continue trash collection services in the city limits.
Council made the decision during a special called meeting Monday night at Cadiz City Hall. City Administrative Officer Jack Lingenfelter says council review proposals from GFL and Republic Waste from Mayfield. He says council ultimately decided to renew the existing franchise agreement with GFL with a minimal difference in monthly fees between the two companies.

Council also approved the annexation of the annexation ordinance for the Cadiz RV Park that is located off Rocky Ridge Road. Lingenfelter says the ordinance must now be advertised and the Cadiz-Trigg County Planning Commission must hold a public hearing and update the zoning in the area prior to the park annexation becoming official.
