A traffic stop on Hopkinsville Road in Trigg County led to drug charges for a Murray Man and woman on Thanksgiving night.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 42-year-old William Comperry for his headlight being out, and he was unable to produce proof of insurance or his driver’s license.

During the stop, deputies say they could smell the odor of marijuana, and after a search of the vehicle and their belongings, suspected meth, marijuana, and a glass pipe were found.

William Comperry reportedly stated the substance found was his prescription Suboxone that had gotten wet. The passenger, 40-year-old Rayln Comperry, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of meth third or more offenses.

William Comperry was also arrested and charged with one headlight, license to be in possession, no insurance, prescription controlled substance not in a proper container, and possession of meth second offense.
