The Christian County Chamber of Commerce is preparing to host its next Learn & Thrive event on December 4, focusing on the expanding economic force of Kentucky’s healthcare sector.
The program, titled “Vital Signs of Growth: Healthcare’s Economic Impact,” will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Emerging Technology Building at Hopkinsville Community College. Lunch is included as part of the event.
Jim Musser, Senior Vice President for Policy and Government Relations with the Kentucky Hospital Association, will serve as the keynote speaker.
Musser, who leads statewide healthcare policy advocacy, highlights the broad reach of Kentucky’s hospital network, which supports more than 84,000 jobs and contributes an estimated $14 billion to the state’s economy each year. According to KHA figures, hospitals and health systems generate more than $128 million in economic impact in Christian County alone.
Representatives from Jennie Stuart Health–Deaconess, Baptist Health–Deaconess and Trigg County Hospital will also participate, offering additional insights into trends facing local providers and the healthcare workforce.
Chamber officials say the event aims to help business leaders, educators, and community members better understand how hospitals influence both regional health outcomes and long-term economic growth. Registration is $25 for chamber members and $30 for non-members.
