A request of a motorist assist on Caledonia Road in Trigg County led to drug charges for a Hopkinsville man Saturday morning.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to help 43-year-old Christopher Brown, who stated he pulled over due to the rain overnight and broke his key off in the ignition.

The car was reportedly found parked behind an abandoned trailer. Deputies say Brown gave them consent to search the vehicle and his belongings, leading to the discovery of meth and a Klonopin pill in his shoe.

Brown was arrested and charged with possession of meth third or more offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia, and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.
