Various community partners are coming together to help feed 300 families during a food distribution event coming Wednesday afternoon at West Cadiz Park.
The food distribution event is open to only Trigg County residents in need, no matter your income. The distribution will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
The event has been organized by Karen Stanfield from LifeBridge United Methodist Church in Cadiz. She has received assistance from Feeding America – Kentucky’s Heartland, Helping Hands of Trigg County, Genesis Express, and Tammy Mason’s Feed My Friends.
Other groups, like the Cadiz Rotary Club, have stepped up to support the event. The club is contributing $10 per food bag to ensure every recipient receives eggs, bread, and meat. This donation allowed for the purchase of 450 one-pound ground beef chubs from Hancock’s Neighborhood Market and sourcing assistance from Aldi stores in Madisonville and Hopkinsville.
This initiative is designed to provide substantial relief, especially for local families with limited resources and federal workers who have gone without income for five weeks, demonstrating a strong spirit of community support in Cadiz and Trigg County.
Stanfield reiterated that food will be provided to everyone who attends the distribution event on Wednesday afternoon.
