Elkton Woman Charged With Drug Possession During Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on Princeton Road in Christian County led to drug charges for an Elkton woman Saturday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Cheri Hart for speeding and a cover over her license plate.

During the stop, Deputies say they could smell the odor of marijuana and could see a bottle of alcohol.

The passenger was reportedly found to have marijuana on him, and he was cited to court and released.

Deputies say Hart was taken to the hospital to get blood drawn after a field sobriety test and was found to have ingested a bag of suspected meth.

She was arrested and charged with possession of meth, tampering with physical evidence, DUI, speeding, license to be in possession, and rim or frame obscuring lettering or decal on plate.
