A man was killed in a house fire on Striped Bridge Road in Christian County on Wednesday morning.
Square Deal firefighters say they were called at 1:23 am by a neighbor about a fire and arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames, with the second story collapsed.
Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel says after the flames were extinguished, the body of the homeowner, 83-year-old Stephen Finchum, was found inside.
Firefighters say fire investigators have been called to help in determining the cause.
Herndon, Square Deal, and Lafayette fire departments were all called to help extinguish the flames. The two-story log home is located at the intersection of Lafayette Road.
