A report of someone yelling for help on Apache Drive led to charges for a Hopkinsville man on Friday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say a neighbor called reporting someone yelling for help, and when law enforcement arrived, they found 31-year-old Michael Paxton had been physically harming a dog, then assaulted a family member who tried to stop him.
Paxton was reportedly bitten by another dog in the home and then fled the area. He was later located and charged with first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
