A fire in a trash compactor at Walmart Distribution Center led to a temporary evacuation Sunday night.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says they were called at 5:28 pm for a trash compactor on fire at Walmart Distribution Center on Crenshaw Boulevard with trailers and a building next to the compactor.
The fire led to a temporary evacuation of the area, and firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.
The building has only minor damage from the fire.
